Performance:
FITT Revix is a flexible spiral hose featuring patent-pending Coreshield technology: a layer that isolates and separates regenerated material from virgin material. This ensures adequate resistance to external abrasion during installation, and excellent adhesion of the hose to fittings during bonding. Spiral Coreshield technology joins forces with the patented D-Shape reinforcement spiral in virgin material, guaranteeing resistance to crushing. The innovative technologies with which FITT Revix was developed, combined with research into recycled and virgin materials, guarantee high performance in terms of mechanical and chemical sealing of the first sustainable pool pipe.
Circularity:
FITT Revix uses 30% recycled materials, reducing CO2e emissions by 10%. The recycled material is the result of a major collaboration between FITT and the RENOLIT Group. The latter is one of the world's leading specialists in the production of high-quality polymer-based films, sheets and other products, and has been continuously developing its know-how for over 75 years. The recycled material is derived from RENOLIT's industrial applications for the decoration of window profiles manufactured and processed for reuse: it is composed of calibrated chips, selected to guarantee uniform granule size and extrusion stability and, consequently, the pipe's high performance. The partnership between FITT and RENOLIT is the ultimate expression of circularity in the pool industry: a new way of working together to find solutions with less environmental impact.
Reduction:
FITT estimates that it uses around 200 tonnes of LDPE for the primary packaging of equivalent products, which corresponds to 400 tonnes of CO2e. This is why FITT Revix minimizes single-use plastic primary packaging. Rolls remain protected by the film that wraps the entire pallet, preserving them during handling and throughout their stay in the warehouse. Reducing primary packaging has three advantages: speed of material disposal on site, ease of installation and reduction of microplastics.
Offsetting:
After reducing the environmental impact of FITT Revix, FITT chose to offset the remaining CO2e emissions derived from its production cycle by purchasing carbon credits from the Water is Life project.
Water is Life's mission is to bring clean drinking water to families living in the villages of Anketrake, Andranogadra and Ankatsaky, Madagascar.
In some parts of the island, 80% of the population still has no direct access to drinking water, and is forced to make long daily journeys through semi-deserted areas to reach sources.
FITT designs and manufactures pipes and conduits for transporting fluids, the main one being water.
It has therefore chosen to support the Water is Life project to guarantee access to this vital resource, even in areas where it is not readily available.
