Indications: In dogs, the dosage is defined according to the body weight group (see "Dosage and route of administration"). Treatment of infestations by fleas alone or mixed infestations by fleas and ticks and/or crushing lice:
  • Treatment of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides spp.). Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations of adult fleas persists for 8 weeks. Prevention of flea multiplication by inhibiting the development of eggs (ovicidal activity) and larvae and pupae (larvicidal activity) from eggs laid by adult fleas for 8 weeks after application.
  • Treatment of tick infestation (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). The product has an acaricidal efficacy against ticks that lasts up to 4 weeks.
  • Treatment of infestation by crushing lice (Trichodectes canis). The drug can be incorporated into a treatment program for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (DAPP), when it has been previously diagnosed by the veterinarian.
  • Administration mode
    R
    1. emove the pipette from its packaging. Hold the pipette in an upright position, unscrew and remove the cap. Turn the cap over and place it upside down on the pipette. Press and rotate the cap to break the seal. Remove the cap from the pipette
    2. Spread the hair on the animal's back, at the base of the neck, between the shoulder blades to make the skin visible
    3. Apply the pipette tip directly to the animal's skin and squeeze the pipette several times to empty it of its contents directly on the skin at one point
Tips for proper administration: In the absence of tolerance data, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks. Transient effects on the coat (greasy hairs / conglomerates) can be observed at the application site. Waiting time : Not applicable
Special warnings: Bathing/immersion in water within 2 days of application and bathing more frequently than once a week should be avoided in the absence of an efficacy study. Emollient shampoos can be used before treatment, but reduce the duration of flea protection to about 5 weeks when used once a week after application of the product. Weekly baths with 2% Chlorhexidine shampoos did not reduce the efficacy of the product against fleas in a 6-week study. Dogs must not be allowed to swim in watercourses for 2 days after application. Attached ticks can occasionally be observed. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely excluded if conditions are unfavourable
Pet fleas often infest their baskets, sleeping areas and usual resting areas such as carpets and couches. In the event of a massive infestation, at the beginning of treatment, these areas should be treated, with an appropriate insecticide and vacuumed regularly. Avoid contact with the animal's eyes. It is important to ensure that the product is applied to an area where the animal cannot lick itself and that the animals do not lick each other after the treatment. Can be used during gestation and lactation. No adverse effects were observed in tolerance studies in 8-week-old puppies, growing dogs and dogs weighing approximately 2 kg, treated once to five times the recommended dose. However, the risk of adverse reactions (see "Adverse Events (Frequency and Severity)") may increase with overdose. Therefore, dogs should always be treated with the pipette corresponding to the weight of the animal
Dosage for each species, route and mode of administration: External use only, spot-on. Administer by skin application to the skin according to the animal's weight: refer to the table. This corresponds to the recommended minimum dose of 6.7 mg Fipronil per kg body weight and 6 mg (S)-Methoprene per kg body weight, when applied topically to the skin.
